General Questions

Does Wyldguard cover businesses as well as homes?2026-07-07T04:26:33+00:00

Yes. The basic animal coverage policy applies to both residential and commercial structures. Specialty add-on coverage also applies to home, business, or property depending on the species.

How is this different from pest control?2026-07-07T04:26:12+00:00

Pest control companies primarily treat insects and classified pests. Wildlife control covers animals beyond that threshold including raccoons, squirrels, bats, birds, snakes, and more. Pest control companies do not warranty the structural repairs required after a wildlife intrusion. Wyldguard does.

Who can purchase a Wyldguard warranty?2026-07-07T04:25:50+00:00

Homeowners and business owners in all 48 contiguous states are eligible. Coverage must be initiated at the time of sale through a certified Wyldguard partner Wildlife Control Operator. If you do not already have a WCO, contact Wyldguard and we will help connect you with one in your area.

Is this the same as homeowner’s insurance?2026-07-07T04:25:26+00:00

No. Wyldguard is a limited express warranty, not an insurance product. Standard homeowner’s policies do not typically cover wildlife damage. Wyldguard was built specifically to fill that gap. All terms are published in full on this site and nothing about this product is designed to mislead.

What is Wyldguard Protection Warranty?2026-07-07T04:25:05+00:00

Wyldguard Protection Warranty is a limited express warranty that covers structural repairs and wildlife exclusion work caused by wildlife intrusion at your home or business. It is not an insurance product. It is the first wildlife damage warranty of its kind in the United States, administered through a network of certified Wildlife Control Operators across all 48 contiguous states.

Coverage Questions

What materials have to be used for the work to stay covered?2026-07-07T04:23:29+00:00

Every species has a defined list of approved and prohibited materials. Work performed with prohibited materials will not be covered under the limited express warranty regardless of when it was performed. The full materials table by species is on the Covered Animals page.

What if my property requires a lift or crane to inspect or repair?2026-07-07T04:23:12+00:00

If the height or architectural design of your property requires a bucket lift, crane, or boom to complete an inspection or repair, equipment rental costs are billed directly to the property owner and are not covered under the standard warranty.

Does Wyldguard cover commercial or multi-unit properties?2026-07-07T04:22:52+00:00

Yes, with conditions. Commercial hotels, row homes, duplexes, condominiums, and attached multi-family units are eligible only if all parties sharing common walls, foundations, or roof spaces purchase individual or block policies simultaneously. Single-unit coverage within an attached structure is not available because wildlife can migrate freely through shared structural paths.

Does coverage apply to detached structures like sheds or garages?2026-07-07T04:22:30+00:00

Not under the standard policy. Detached structures can be added via a written policy rider. Contact Wyldguard to discuss adding outbuildings, sheds, hot tubs, or saunas to your coverage.

Can I add coverage for large animals like bears or elk?2026-07-07T04:22:08+00:00

Yes. Specialty add-on coverage is available for beaver at $50 per month covering trapping and dam removal only, and large apex wildlife at $75 per month per designated species. Apex species include coyote, deer, elk, bear, mountain lion, wolves, and moose. Add-on coverage requires an active basic coverage policy and all claimed damage must be biologically confirmed by a certified WCO before a claim is processed.

Is bat guano cleanup covered?2026-07-17T13:56:16+00:00

Bat guano remediation and cleanup inside an enclosed attic or crawl space is covered. Exterior bird or bat fecal matter cleanup and any staining or rot caused by exterior fecal matter is not covered.

What is not covered?2026-07-07T04:21:20+00:00

The following are excluded from all coverage tiers: wildlife on the outside of the structure or hanging externally, wall insulation or between-floor insulation, garage door bottom seals and weather stripping, structural staining or rot caused by bird or bat fecal matter on the exterior, detached structures such as sheds, outbuildings, hot tubs, or saunas unless added via written policy rider, underground utility lines, conduits, leach fields, or septic systems outside the foundation footprint, and standalone trapping programs not connected to a structural exclusion plan.

What does the warranty actually pay for?2026-07-07T04:20:46+00:00

Wyldguard covers exterior structural exclusion work using approved species-specific materials, repair of immediate wildlife damage, preventative exclusion barriers to block future access, wildlife trapping and live removal from inside the covered structure, and in some cases attic or foundation insulation removal and replacement at the discretion of the Wyldguard inspector if the R-value or structural integrity was significantly damaged by the covered species.

What animals are covered under basic coverage?2026-07-07T04:20:24+00:00

Basic coverage includes all wild animals indigenous to your state, county, and local region that are known to cause structural damage, including commensal rodents like mice and rats. Domestic animals, insects, arachnids, and general classified pests are excluded.

Getting Started Questions

How much does coverage cost?2026-07-07T04:19:20+00:00

Monthly premiums are based on total gross interior square footage. Rates start at $75 per month for structures under 1,500 square feet. The full rate table is on the Pricing page. Discounts are available for military and first responders, wildlife control professionals, annual prepayment, and comprehensive regional portfolio coverage. Discounts can be stacked where eligible but must be formally requested and verified at the time of application.

What if my property has pre-existing wildlife damage?2026-07-07T04:19:00+00:00

Coverage is deferred until all necessary exclusion work is completed using Wyldguard-approved materials. Wyldguard must then conduct a follow-up inspection before the warranty goes into effect.

What happens during the initial inspection?2026-07-07T04:18:17+00:00

A certified WCO inspects your property to confirm there are no current wildlife intrusions and no pre-existing entry points or vulnerabilities. If issues are found, repairs must be completed before coverage begins. A follow-up inspection is then required. Once your property passes, your limited express warranty goes into effect. Inspections are billed at $100 per hour with a one-hour minimum. A 75-minute inspection is billed at $200.

How do I sign up for coverage?2026-07-07T04:17:52+00:00

Coverage is sold through certified Wyldguard partner Wildlife Control Operators at the time of service. Your WCO presents the warranty, walks you through the pricing and terms, and handles the enrollment. If you do not have a WCO, contact Wyldguard and we will help connect you with a certified operator in your area.

Claims Questions

Can I use any contractor for the repair?2026-07-07T04:15:06+00:00

No. All work covered under a Wyldguard warranty must be performed by a certified Wyldguard partner Wildlife Control Operator using approved materials and methods. Work performed by non-approved contractors or with prohibited materials will not be covered.

Do I pay the contractor and get reimbursed?2026-07-07T04:14:44+00:00

No. Wyldguard pays the certified WCO directly upon completion of approved work. You do not pay out of pocket for covered claims and you do not manage the reimbursement process.

What counts as officially filing a claim?2026-07-07T04:14:24+00:00

A formal claim is established by placing a direct call to Wyldguard, leaving a recorded voicemail, or submitting the warranty claim form on this website. Any of these creates a date-stamped record and activates your claim.

What is the four-month reporting window?2026-07-07T04:13:57+00:00

Wyldguard requires that any active infestation or structural breach be reported within four months of first detection, whether that detection is audio, visual, or structural. If a Wyldguard inspector or certified WCO finds evidence that damage went unreported beyond this window, the claim will be declared void and all repair costs fall to the property owner. A problem that costs $2,000 to resolve in month one can cost $8,000 or more by month three. Report early.

How do I file a warranty claim?2026-07-07T04:13:36+00:00

You can file a claim by calling Wyldguard directly, leaving a voicemail, or submitting the Warranty Claim form on this website. Any of these methods officially opens your claim and creates a date-stamped record. The work does not need to be completed immediately but the claim must be filed within four months of first detection.

Pricing and Policy Questions

Does Wyldguard have the right to inspect my property?2026-07-07T04:08:28+00:00

Yes. Wyldguard reserves the right to inspect any covered property at any time to verify the quality of exclusion work performed by the servicing WCO. This protects the homeowner and keeps the network performing to warranty standards.

Can I stack discounts?2026-07-07T04:08:03+00:00

Yes. Available discounts can be combined where eligible. All discounts must be formally requested and verified at the time of application. They do not apply automatically.

Can I cancel my coverage?2026-07-07T04:07:34+00:00

Yes, at any time. Cancellations are processed on the first day of the following month. The current billing cycle must be paid in full regardless of cancellation date. No pro-rated refunds are issued for remaining days in an active billing period. If you paid an annual premium in full, no refund will be issued for the remaining balance.

Can I pay annually instead of monthly?2026-07-07T04:07:07+00:00

Yes. You can pay your full calendar year premium upfront and receive a 5% discount. Premiums are paid directly to Wyldguard Protection Warranty.

Partner Questions

How does claim payment work for WCO partners?2026-07-07T04:06:35+00:00

When a covered claim is filed on a property you service, Wyldguard coordinates with you to complete the work and pays you directly upon completion. You invoice Wyldguard, not the homeowner. Alternative distribution arrangements are available for partner companies that require a different payment structure but must be requested and approved in writing by Wyldguard.

How does the 5% residual work?2026-07-07T04:06:11+00:00

As an approved Wyldguard partner, you earn a 5% monthly residual on every active policy you originate. Customers pay premiums directly to Wyldguard. You receive your residual on a recurring monthly basis for as long as the policy remains active. You are also required to submit a monthly digital report of your active accounts, new acquisitions, cancellations, and mid-term adjustments.

I am a Wildlife Control Operator. How do I become a Wyldguard partner?2026-07-07T04:05:49+00:00

Submit a partner application through the form on the Partners page. You will need current state licensing for wildlife control operations in your service area, NWCOA certification or completion of Wyldguard’s direct certification program, and the ability to offer a minimum one-year workmanship warranty on all exclusion work performed under a Wyldguard policy.
